Pipe Band Masquerade
- Huntly Hairst : 2007
Following on from my contribution to Halloween in Huntly in
2006, Claudia Zeiske of Deveron Arts asked me to become
Artist in Residence in Huntly for two months, beginning in
September 2007, where I have been designing and making
masks for the Huntly Pipe Band to wear at the annual
Halloween Parade. These masks have been specially designed,
the Pipers masks as a demon three-quarter face mask
enabling them to play their bagpipes, the Drummers with a
goblin mask complete with ears, and Red Imp masks for the
younger members of the Band. The Drum major has a beautiful
Golden Eagle 'helmet' style mask covering his whole head,
where his face looks out between the open beak of the bird.
